Functieomschrijving

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior System Engineer to join our IT Delivery team, focusing on hybrid cloud technologies with a strong background in Microsoft technologies. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in leading the design, implementation, and management of our hybrid cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of both on-premises and cloud-based systems.

A snapshot of what you will be doing here:

Implementation and Management:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement hybrid cloud projects.

  • Manage and maintain hybrid cloud environments, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.

  • Implement and manage IaaS, SaaS, PaaS solutions such as Azure Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Office 365.

  • Implement and maintain security controls, monitoring, and alerting for hybrid cloud environments.

Continuous improvement:

  • Ensure best practices and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Optimize the performance of cloud and on-premises systems.

  • Implement automation and orchestration solutions to streamline operations.

Troubleshooting and Support:

  • Provide ad-hoc advanced expert support for cloud and on-premises systems, resolving complex technical issues in collaboration with our ServiceDesk team.

  • Develop and maintain documentation, including architecture diagrams, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides to facilitate the handover to the support team.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Profiel

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in system engineering, with a focus on Microsoft related technologies.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with Office 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, and related technologies.

  • Strong understanding of networking principles, including VPN, DNS, DHCP, and firewall configurations.

  • Experience with cloud virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V and Citrix.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices (e.g., Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines) and scripting tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM templates and Azure Bicep.

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Network Engineer Associate or similar.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
