Manufacturing Engineer Surface Treatment

Mission

As part of the manufacturing surface treatment engineering teams, you are a key player within the support of our surface treatment and painting processes of aluminium parts for all our customers. You translate the specific customer requirements and production requests into surface treatment processes and painting processes and necessary means, optimise safety, cost, delivery, quality aspects and document all surface treatment processes and painting processes; You work in close collaboration with the product quality department, maintenance and other technical support departments.

Responsibilities

· Act as an internal focal point for the manufacturing surface treatment processes within own responsibility

· Develop and implement manufacturing processes, and guarantee the quality-related requirements of these processes to maintain proper product functionality

· Continuously evaluate and optimise the process methodology & efficiency to reduce the operational cost

· Actively support the operational departments to assure on time full delivery to our customers with focus on Tooling & Masking means

· Support the choice of the new techniques and processes to deliver optimal performance (Tooling & Surface treatment)

· Capable to resolve escalated issues from operations that require coordination with other departments

· Review, evaluate and implement engineering changes and specification requirements;

· Accountbale for up to date internal instructions and responsible for internal procedures

· Optimise the product flow by introducing lean principles

· Document process details to sustain quality

· Research root causes and advise operations on tests to confirm them via structured root cause analysis methods (5-Why, 9S, 8D,…)

· Inform about scientific and technical developments, advise on potential impact for the operations

Profile

Education – diploma - experience

· Master’s degree in Materials science, Electromechanical or equivalent

Competencies :

· Basic CAD experience

· Knowledge of one or more of the following : Tooling design & manufacturing, Surface treatment Alu, process qualifications

· Analytical and problem-solving skills, Team Player, attention to detail, data driven, strong communication skills
